Hands-on and Self-Care Relief and Prevention for Body and Mind
"I've got such a headache!" If you've ever said this, you're not alone. Fifty million Americans have chronic headaches. Twenty-eight million of them mostly women get debilitating migraines. They spend billions of dollars annually on treatment, yet their pain and suffering are not relieved.
Since 1970, I have used my hands-on headache therapy to relieve headaches on-the-spot. In 1992, I developed a mind-body, self-care program for headache and migraine relief and prevention. I am committed to helping people:
My Headache Philosophy
My experience with healing headaches has taught me that people have the power within themselves far beyond their current beliefs to naturally relieve and prevent their headaches, migraines, and associated symptoms. In the process of finding and eliminating the underlying causes, they learn new ways of thinking about headaches, their health, and themselves that help them maintain results long-term and live a better quality of life.
I work with chronic headache sufferers who have lived with pain, frustration, and despair, often for many years. They want help but feel helpless, want hope but feel doubtful. Anyone who has ever had a migraine knows that the pain can be consuming: all you can do is stay still, sometimes for days on end, in hopes of quelling the nausea and the pounding in your head. I understand this pain and its cycles and have worked with it for years, consistently and effectively. Migraines don't scare me. In fact, I relish taking them on. The thing is to instill that headache warrior spirit in you!
The Mundo Method is a specialized hands-on headache therapy that uses subtle touch and concentration to relieve headache pain and its other symptoms on the spot. It works with the sensations of the headache, rather than in a fixed spot. A dynamic process akin to non-instrumental biofeedback, the responses during treatment determine the course, rate, pressure, and application of the treatment. In addition to no more pain and symptoms, this therapy produces a calm state of relaxation. In future sessions, I teach clients how to stop their own headache pain.

Self Care Relief and Prevention
The Mundo Program is a mind-body program for self-care relief and prevention of headaches and migraines. It uses practical instructions and exercises to help people manage their own headaches and migraines safely and effectively. Although it is a carefully structured, comprehensive action plan, it is not just "one size fits all." It is customized to fit the individual or group.
The program guides individuals step-by-step through the process of tracking down their headache triggers and underlying patterns that hold the headaches in place. It addresses the challenges of conquering headaches and embracing self-care. People succeed with it because they become engaged and empowered in their healing process. People rarely get headaches after completing the Mundo Program. They accomplish their goal and move on with their lives - something that was impossible to imagine a few months earlier.
Program components include:
Underlying all of this, my focus is on working with the person as a whole being, not just applying tips and techniques.
My headache and migraine clients are people who typically have tried many treatments over time, and want to find something that works once and for all without harmful medications or side effects. I also work with their spouses and families, teaching them practical ways to help in the healing process.
For example, I teach parents how to support their migraine-prone child or teen with diet and relaxation practices. In the process, the whole family learns to eat better, exercise more, and reduce their stress, because they're focused on creating a healthier lifestyle.
Especially with couples, a husband who can halt or prevent his wife's migraine is worth his weight in gold! Read Jennifer's story about this.
How I Work and What a Session is Like
I respect the struggle and journey it took for someone to get here, so I always pace the program according to the individual's needs. Because each person or group is different, the order and flow of learning and hands-on work is individualized. Some people need more bodywork to relieve pain and tightness, or stop their migraine. Other clients or students may need more time working with diet or breathing.
A session usually begins with a check-in, followed by some combination of coaching, hands-on work, and a lesson with training. There are at-home assignments and practices between sessions. I typically work with people for a minimum of three to six months.
I use inspiring stories, exercises, handouts, compassion, and humor to support clients in their process, working with them to make sure they go through each step. (I also will kick butt, if needed.) In this way, they can really understand what is keeping their old patterns in place, build their skills for shifting them, and maintain their new practices over time. I encourage and lead people on a new path: a journey to claim their full power to heal.
