About Jan

Jan MundoJan Mundo has 35 years experience using her hands to stop headaches and migraines on the spot. In 1970, she developed the Mundo Method, a touch and concentration modality for relief of headache pain and symptoms. In 1992, she designed the mind-body Mundo Program for headache self-care relief and prevention.

Jan is certified as a Master Somatic Coach, Massage Therapist, and Body-Centered Therapist. She has trained with master teachers her entire life, and her work draws from long-time practices in the meditative and healing arts. Jan teaches her programs and classes at leading medical centers, universities, and corporations.

Currently, she is writing a book on how to heal headaches with self-care practices. She is published in Massage & Bodywork Magazine, Being Human at Work, edited by Richard Strozzi-Heckler, PhD, Journal Cephalalgia, Spiritual Midwifery, by Ina May Gaskin, and The Farm Vegetarian Cookbook, edited by Louise Hagler.

Jan is founder and director of the Headache Healing Center in Berkeley, California, and an Associate at Strozzi Institute. She is committed to helping chronic headache and migraine sufferers discover and eliminate the causes of their pain. She works with individuals, couples, and groups in the areas of health, healing, and personal transformation. She uses somatic coaching, bodywork, and self-care practices to evoke optimal living and embodiment in service of people accomplishing their highest goals.
